One day in early November 2020, I
strolled on a low hill near the sea in central Shimane, where
Solidago virgaurea var. asiatica, a yellow-flowered species,
sporadically occurred along the trail. Among them, I found a single
white-flowered variety which I had never seen before, as albinism
reportedly rarely occurs with yellow flowers. Bloom time:
