Spergularia bocconii, an
annual biennial herb, height 10-20cm, occurs in damp sandy soil on
seashores, with glandular hairs on the upper parts of stems and on
calyxes, as well. Leaves are of alternate phyllotaxis, 1-3cm long,
linear-shaped, with bases with white membranaceous stipules that
connate. Flowers set themselves singly on axils on the upper parts.
Petals are small,1-2mm, varying from white to red - white ones are
superior in numbers, stamens are generally 5, and styles are 3.
