Spiraea salicifolia is
a deciduous shrub inhabiting wetland; stems grow dense, 1-2m in
height, with short, thick hairs. Leaves are alternate, lanceolate in
shape, with significantly short petioles and pointed tips. Branch
tops set panicles of light red, approximately 7 mm in diameter,
5-petaled flowers, in which many pistils and styles bend backward.
