Spiranthes sinensis var. amoena is
a perennial orchid with white spindle-shaped stout roots inhabiting
a moist, sunny grassland or lawn in the countryside. The leaves are
linear-lanceolate, tips tapering off to a point, and measure 5-20cm
in length. The flower stalk grows up to 10-40cm tall, the raceme
delivering small flowers, ranging from deep pink and light pink to
white, in a spiral arrangement. The flowers open sideways.
