Spiranthes sinensis var. amoena is
a perennial orchid with white, stout roots that inhabit a moist,
sunny grassland or lawn in the countryside. The leaves are linear-lanceolate,
with tips tapering to a point, and measure 5-20 cm in length. The
flower stalk grows up to 10-40 cm tall, the raceme delivering small
flowers that range from deep pink to light pink and white, arranged
in a spiral. The flowers open sideways. Bloom time:
May-August. |
