Tephroseris pierotii
is a perennial herb that inhabits sunny, wet mountain
districts and grows to 50-80 cm tall, with thick, soft leaves.
Rosette-like basal leaves measure 12-25 cm long and 1.5-7 cm
wide, are spatulate-lanceolate, and have thick arachnoid hairs
on their surfaces. On-stem leaves are ovate-lanceolate, with
sharp ends and bases embracing the stems. Head flowers, yellow,
3.5-5 cm in diameter, are arranged in corymbs. Bloom time:
April-June.
