Tephroseris pierotii
is a perennial herb that inhabits sunny, wet mountain districts,
growing to 50-80cm in height, with thick and soft leaves.
Rosette-like radical leaves measure 12-25cm in length, 1.5-7cm in
width, and are spatulate-lanceolate in shape, with thick arachnoid
hairs on surfaces. On-stem leaves are ovate-lanceolate, with sharp
ends and bases embracing the stems. Head flowers, yellow, 3.5-5 cm
in diameter, are arranged in corymbs. Bloom time: April-June. |
