Teucrium japonicum, a
perennial of 30-70cm in height, occurs in semi-shady damp locations,
with slender runners underground. 5-10cm long and 2-3.5cm wide,
leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis, in an oval-like oblong or broad
lanceolate, with sharp tips and margins with uneven serrations.
Veins on upper surfaces significantly dent themselves, which is
conspicuous. Branch tips emerge 3-10ccm long inflorescences that set
small light red flowers. Corollas measure 1-1.2cm in length. Bloom
time: July-September. |
