Tipularia japonica is
a perennial orchid found on somewhat dry forest floors. Leaves are
single, oval to oblong, 4-7cm in length, dark green, medial veins
are white, and the back sides have a tinge of purple-brown. Flower
stalks are slender, measuring 15-25cm in length, and bear sparsely
5-10 small light yellow-green tinged with purple-brown flowers in
racemes. Bloom time: May-June.
