Tofieldia japonica is
a perennial occurring in high altitude wetlands in the mountains;
its radical leaves are linear, 10-40cm in length. Flower stalks,
growing to a height of 20-40cm, bear white to light red flowers in
inflorescences. Glandular hair exists on peduncles and
inflorescence, which feel adhesive. Bloom time: August-September.
