Trachelospermum asiaticum,
an evergreen liana, grows in evergreen forests, with branches green
at first, then turning a dark purple. Leaves are of opposite
phyllotaxis; blades are 5-10cm long, 1-3cm wide, in an oblong shape,
leathery, with entire margins and glossy surfaces. Flowers, pale
yellow, set themselves many in cymes emerging from branch ends.
Corollas are 8-10mm in diameter, in a high-cup shape; tubular
portions are slender, the upper parts cut in five. Bloom time:
April-June. |
