Tricyrtis affinis is a perennial herb that typically grows to a height of 40-70 cm in mountainous forest regions. Dense, downward-pointing hairs cover the stem, and the amount of hair can vary among individual plants. The leaves range in length from 8 to 18 cm. Flowers emerge from the axil or shoot apex, featuring red-purple spots on the tepals. The blooming period is from August to October.
