Tripterospermum japonicum
is a perennial vine 40-80cm long, occurring in the shade of a
mountain tree. Leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis and in an oval-lanceolate
shape, 3-5cm long, with backsides generally tinging purple. Flowers
(corollas) are light purple and split in five, with plicaes. Bloom
time: August-October.
