Vaccinium ciliatum
is a deciduous shrub found on forest edges in mountainous
regions, growing up to 2m in height, with coarse hairs throughout.
Its young branches are incredibly dense. Leaves are simple,
alternate phyllotaxis, each 4-9cm in length, 2.5-6 in width, in the
shape of a broad-oblong, densely haired, and margins are entire.
Petioles measure 1-2mm in size. Young branch tops give birth to
4-7cm long racemes with many white flowers, which bloom facing
downwards. The flowers are bell-shaped, cleft in five, with ten
stamens inside. Bloom time: May-June. |
