Vaccinium ciliatum, is a deciduous shrub found on forest edges
in mountainous regions, growing up to 2m in height, with coarse
hairs throughout - incredibly dense are young branches. Leave are
simple, alternate phyllotaxis, each 4-9cm in length, 2.5-6 in width,
in the shape of a broad-oblong, densely haired, and margins entire.
Petioles measure 1-2mm in size. Young branch tops give birth to
4-7cm long racemes with many white flowers, which bloom facing
downwards. The flowers are bell-shaped, cleft in five, with ten
stamens inside. Bloom time: May-June. |
