Vicia unijuga
is a perennial herb that inhabits fields and
mountainous areas. The stems are erect, 30-60cm in height, with
several leaves, each consisting of just a single pair of leaflets,
with a few tendrils at the apex. The brochures measure 4-7cm in
length and 1.5-4cm in width, generally in the shape of an oval,
although this varies. Flowers, red-purple, approximately 1.5cm in
height, are set on peduncles that emerge from leaf axils in a
cluster in racemes. Legumes (fruit) measure around 3cm in length.
Bloom time: June-October. |
