Vincentoxicum pycnostelma
is a perennial herb that inhabits sunny grasslands; its
stems are solid and slender, reaching 0.4-1m in height. The somewhat
thick leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis, in the shape of long or
linear-lanceolate, 6-13cm in length, 0.4-1.5cm in width, with
pointed tips. Leaf axils on the upper parts bear inflorescences that
set sparse 1- 2 cm in diameter yellow-brown flowers in them. The
flowers open in the early morning and close as the sun rises higher.
Bloom time: July-August. |
