Viola chaerophylloides f. sieboldiana is
a perennial herb inhabiting grasslands or deciduous forest floors;
the leaves are entirely cut into three, and the lobes on either side
are again deeply cleft in three, thus the whole looks to be five
clefts. Those cleft lobes are cut further finely. Flowers are white,
rarely light red, and many are fragrant; the side petals have hair
at the basal portions. Spurs measure 4-6cm in length. Bloom time:
March-May. |
