Viola chaerophylloides f.
sieboldiana is a perennial herb inhabiting grasslands or
deciduous forest floors; the leaves entirely cut themselves in
three, and either side lobes again deeply cleft in three, thus the
whole look to be five clefts. Those cleft lobes cut in further
finely. Flowers are white, rarely light red, and many fragrant; the
side petals have hair at the basal portions. Spurs measure 4-6cm in
length. Bloom time: March-May. |
