Viola hirpetis is a
perennial herb, height 8-15cm, found in sunny grasslands or
deciduous forests. Leaves are erect, triangular long-oval-shaped,
with long peduncles and many soft hairs going out sideways
horizontally. The upper petals are more significant than the side
ones, and the side ones have dense growing hairs at the bases and
are open, not entirely at the lower portions, making it challenging
to see pistils inside. Flowers are light red-purple, measuring
2.5-3cm in diameter. Bloom time: April-June. |
