Viola keiskei is a
perennial herb of 5-10cm in height, found in sunny to semi-shady
locations in deciduous forests, especially on clumpy slopes with
soft-feeling soils. Leaves, 2-4cm in length, are ovate, increasing
the size to 7-8 cm long in summer, and the height becomes much more
extensive. Flowers, the petals without hairs, around 2cm in
diameter, white or light red-purple tinged, and well-rounded,
characterize this species. Bloom time: April-May. |
