Viola mandshurica is
a perennial herb of 7-11cm, found across the country, from
residential to hilly districts, in sunny grasslands, fringes of
cultivated lands, or roadsides. Leaves are in bundles at the bases,
each 2-9cm in length when in bloom, oblong-lanceolate, and the tips
are round. The petioles have significant wings. Flowers are large
and dark purple; the petals measure 1.2-1.7 cm in length, with white
hairs at the bases, and the spurs are 5-7cm long. Bloom time:
