Viola mandshurica is
a 7-11cm perennial herb found across the country, from residential
to hilly districts, in sunny grasslands, fringes of cultivated
lands, or roadsides. Leaves are in bundles at the bases, each 2-9cm
long when in bloom, oblong-lanceolate, and the tips are round. The
petioles have significant wings. Flowers are large and dark purple;
the petals measure 1.2-1.7 cm long, with white hairs at the bases
and the spurs 5-7cm long. Bloom time: March-June. |
