Viola maximowicziana is a
perennial herb, 4-8cm tall, inhabiting damp evergreen forest floors;
leaves are oval and hairy, 3cm in length, with short white hairs
perpendicular to the surfaces. Color on the leaf surfaces varies,
ranging from green, dark green, purplish, and reddish to white dots.
Flowers, with purple lines on the lips, are white, 1-1.5cm in
diameter, and the side petals have hairs at the base, with short
spurs. Sepals curve backward. Bloom time: April-May. |
