Viola maximowicziana
is a perennial herb, 4-8cm tall, inhabiting damp evergreen forest
floors. The leaves are oval and hairy, 3cm long, with short white
hairs perpendicular to the surface. The color on the leaf surfaces
varies, ranging from green to dark green, purplish, and reddish,
with white dots also present. Flowers, with purple lines on the
lips, are white, 1-1.5cm in diameter, and the side petals have hairs
at the base, with short spurs. Sepals curve backward. Bloom time:
April-May. |
