Viola ovato-oblonga
is a perennial herb found in grasslands in fields and mountains,
ranging from coastal to high-elevated areas approximately 1,000 m
from sea level. The stems measure 10-20cm in height around bloom
time, then gradually grow to as tall as 30cm in fruit. Radical
leaves are concentric, 2-3cm across; however, leaves on the stems
are long and narrow, triangle-like oblong, which is conspicuous.
Flowers are light or dark purple, the petals are 1.2-1.5cm, and the
spurs are 7-8mm. Bloom time: March-May. |
