Viola ovato-oblonga
is a perennial herb found in grasslands, ranging from coastal to
high-elevation areas, approximately 1,000 m above sea level. The
stems measure 10-20cm in height around bloom time, then gradually
grow to as tall as 30cm in fruit. Radical leaves are concentric,
2-3cm across; however, leaves on the stems are long, narrow,
triangle-like, and oblong, which is conspicuous. Flowers are light
or dark purple, the petals are 1.2-1.5cm, and the spurs are 7-8mm.
Bloom time: March-May. |
