Viola phalacrocarpa,
a perennial herb approximately 10cm tall, inhabits sunny grasslands
in hills and valleys, especially peduncles, spurs, ovals, and fruit
being hairy. Leave are in bundles, each 2-4cm in length, 2-3cm in
width, in the shape of narrow ovate to ovate; they grow in summer to
about 8cm, keeping the same form. Flowers, around 1.5cm across,
light or medium red-purple, with purple veins on them, have slim
spurs; the side petals have dense hairs at the bases. As they are
not fully open, it is challenging to see inside. Bloom time: April. |
