Viola rosii is
a perennial herb, height 5-10cm, inhabiting light copses; the sturdy
peduncles, which come directly from the ground, stand straight up
and set flowers on the tops. Even when the flowering time arrives,
leaves have yet to develop fully. Leaves are 3-4cm long and
heart-shaped, the upper parts becoming narrower to points after the
flower, growing to 6-12cm. Flowers measure 2-2.5cm in diameter, the
petals are thick, and the side petals have hairs or no hairs at the
bases. Bloom time: April-May |
