Viola tokubuchiana var. takedana, a
perennial herb, height 3-8cm in bloom time, inhabits deciduous
forests or sunny edges of evergreen forests. Leaves, 2-5cm long,
long-oval to lanceolate, heart-shaped at the bases, hairy, expand
sideways in the way of getting parallel to the ground, having
serrations on the margins, and the ends gradually narrowing to
points. Flowers, measuring 1.5-2cn in diameter, are light
purple-red, sometimes bright red-purple; many have hairs at the
bases of side petals. Bloom time: April-May. |
