Viola verecunda
is a perennial wild violet that commonly inhabits damp grasslands in
fields and mountains. Its stems feel soft and diagonally elongate to
5-20cm in height. Leaves are heart-kidney-shaped, measuring 2-4cm in
width, and the bottom sides are purplish. Flowers are white, as
small as 0.8-1cm in length; the side petals have hairs in the lower
portions, and the lips are prominent with purple stripes. Bloom
time: April-June. |
