Viola x inouei is a natural hybrid between V. ovato-oblonga and V.
obtusa. The radical leaves are cordate to oval-cordate, similar to
those of V. obutusa. Meanwhile, the leaves on stems vary, ranging
from ovate-cordate to ovate-triangular, long-triangular, and up to
triangular-lanceolate, which is identical to V. ovato-oblonga. The
peduncles have short hairs, which is another similarity to V.
obutusa. Flowers are light purple-red to red-purple. Bloom time:
March-May. |
