Wisteria barachybotrys,
a deciduous liana with brown bark, is found on low hill edges or in
bright forests. It winds itself around trees to grow up to the
crowns. Leaves are of alternate phyllotaxis and an imparipinnate
compound leaf, 15-25cm long, with leaflets of 4-6 pairs, 4-7 cm
long, oblong or oblong-ovate, with entire margins. Racemes hang down
from branch tips and set many 2-3cm-long purple papilionaceous
