Crotalaria sessiflora, an annual herb of 20-60cm tall, occurs in
sunny, moist to damp locations, with many long brown hairs on parts
like stems or leaves. Leaves are 2.5-10cm long, 4-8cm wide, and
broad linear-shaped. Flowers, blue-purple, 1cm long, set themselves
on branch tips in a raceme way; calyxes are significantly
conspicuous with dense brown hairs, deeply cleft into two, upper
lobes cleft in two anew, and lower lobes in three again. As
flowering is over, the calyxes grow more significantly and entirely
envelop legumes. Bloom time: July-September. |
