Elliota paniculata is a deciduous shrub found in
forest edges or craggy places in hilly districts, growing to 1-2m in
height. Several leaves gather on branch tips together. Blades
measure 2-6cm long and 1-3cm wide, in an oblong-ovate-like long
oblong shape, with sharp angles, bases cuneate, gradually becoming
narrow to stream into peduncles, and margins entire and somewhat
wavy. Branch tips erect 5-10cm-long panicles and set many pale red
flowers in them; corollas cleft in 3; the lobes are about 1cm long,
3mm wide, narrow, long oblong, and bend backward. Stamens are 6, and
pistils pop out straight from the flowers. Bloom time:
August-September. |
