Maianthemum dilatatum
is a perennial herb inhabiting coniferous forests in mountainous
regions to the subalpine zone, with rhizomes crawling long. Stems
measure 10-25cm in height, and leaves are 3-7cm in length,
egg-heart-shaped, with 2-4cm long petioles, tips pointed, and bases
in a deep heart shape. Stem tips bear racemose inflorescences in
which many white flowers come. Sap fruit, spherical, 5-7mm in
diameter, ripens red. Bloom time: May-July. |
