Pueraria lobata is a perennial herb seen everywhere in
fields and mountains. The whole has coarse yellow-brown hairs and
stem bases are woody. Leaves comprise three leaflets, with thick
white coats on the bottom surfaces; the leaflets are 10-15cm long,
and many cleft shallowly in 2-3. Flowers, many, come in racemes,
red-purple, and 1.8-2cm long. Legumes are 5-10cm long, with dense
brown bristles. Bloom time: July-September. |
