Sambucus chinensis is
a perennial found on riversides, fields, or mountains, 1-1.5cm in
height. Leaves are big-sized imparipinnate compound leaves, the
phyllotaxis being opposite, with 5-7 leaflets 5-17cm long, in broad-lanceolate
or oblong-ovate shape. Stem tips set massive small flowers; the
upper parts of the inflorescences are flat, with cup-like patches of
secretory portions. Fruit, about 4mm, spherical, mature in red.
