Securigera varia, a
perennial herb native to Europe, occasionally escapes from
cultivation and grows wild. Stems crawl on the ground, growing to
50-100cm tall. Leaves are alternate, with compound leaves that are
imparipinnate. Flowers, papilionaceous, light purple-red, bloom in
clusters from summer to autumn, with upper lips purple-red and lower
lips white. Bloom time: May-July.
