Serratula coronata, a
perennial plant found in grasslands or the like in mountainous
regions, stems growing to 0.3-1.5m tall with many vertical lines on
them. Phyllotaxis is alternate; the leaves without prickles are
somewhat thin, in the shape of an oval-like long oblong, and
pinnately deeply cleft or divided; the lobes, 4-7 pairs, are long
oblong, with fine hairs on both surfaces. Flower heads comprise many
tubular flowers, 3-4cm in diameter, bloom facing upward. Bloom time:
