Trifolium pratense, a
cosmopolitan perennial herb originating in Europe, grows wild across
the country. Stems stand erect to grow to 20-60cm in height, with
leaves with generally three leaflets with many divaricate hairs. The
leaflets are 2-4cm long, in the shape of an obovate to oblong; many
are with V-shape spots on surfaces. Flowers, red-purple, 1.3-1.5cm
long, gather together in a sphere way. Bloom time: May-August. |
