llugo stricta:
It is a 10-25cm tall annual. Many of the plants inhabit
roadsides or fields, with leaves resembling those of
Punica granatum (Zakuro,
a small tree), which gives the Japanese name Zakurosou. The
leaves are in the whorl (false verticillate) of two to three, each
1.5-5cm long, in the shape of a lanceolate or linear lanceolate. 3mm
across, petal-less, whitish-green flowers come in a cymose
arrangement. Sepals are 5 in number, and capsules are spherical.
Bloom time: July-October. |
