Disporum sessile
is a perennial herb found in forests in hilly districts. Stems
branch at the upper parts, growing to 30-60cm in height. Leaves are
of alternate phyllotaxis, 5-15cm long, 1.5-4cm wide, in the shape of
a long-oblong to broad-oblong, glossy, with pointed tips. Branch
tips hang down one or two light green-white flowers. Perianths
measure 2.5-3cm, gathering together in a tubular way and open not
entirely; the bases of the perianth lobes bulge, and the upper half
is darker green. Bloom time: April-May. |
