Lonicera japonica, a
semi-evergreen liana with gray-brown barks found on roadsides or in
fields and mountains, well branches and grows thick. Leaves are
opposite; blades measure 3-7cm long, 1-3cm wide, in a long oblong
shape, with entire margins, tips not too sharp, and bases abruptly
end as if cut off or broad wedge-shaped. Axils on the branch tips
set 2 each of sweet-fragrant flowers, white or slightly light red at
first but gradually turning yellow; corollas are labiate, 3-4cm
long, tips of fine floral tubes cut in two, and the upper lips
shallowly cleft in four. Bloom time: May-June. |
