Chloranthus fortune
is a perennial herb found in forests in hilly
districts, growing to 30-50cm in height. Leaves of opposite
phyllotaxis attach to the stem tops generally in a whorl. Racemes,
1-5 in number, are erect on the stem tips, flowers lack perianths,
and filaments are long, 8-12mm, and curve inside to envelop pistils.
Bloom time: April-May.
