Erigeron karvinskianus, originating in Central America,
naturalized itself as a native species several decades ago and
inhabits cliffs or wastelands, creeping in clusters on the ground
approximately 50cm long. The leaves are of phyllotaxis, in the shape
of a linear to lanceolate on the upper parts, and the lower parts
are palmately cleft in three. The branch tops are 1.5-2cm across
white flower heads that gradually become pale red-purple. So, the
colonies are a mix of white and pale red-purple flowers. Bloom time:
May-November. |
