Taraxacum maruyamanum, formerly
Taraxacum platycarpum ssp. maruyamanum is an indigenous
perennial species to the Oki Islands off the coast of the Shimane
Peninsula. The flower heads, yellow, measure 3.5-4cm in diameter;
the inner involucral bracts adhere to the petals, not bending
backward or downwards, unlike the worldwide-spread T.
officinale.
The length of outer involucral bracts is as long two-thirds as the
interior ones. Bloom time: April-May. |
