Taraxacum maruyamanum,
formerly
Taraxacum platycarpum ssp. maruyamanum
is an indigenous perennial species found on
the Oki Islands, located off the coast of the Shimane Peninsula. The
flower heads, yellow, measure 3.5-4cm in diameter; the inner
involucral bracts adhere to the petals, not bending backward or
downwards, unlike the worldwide-spread T.
officinale.
The length of the outer involucral bracts is as long as two-thirds
of the interior ones. Bloom time: April-May. |
