Taraxacum  maruyamanum / Okitanpopo オキタンポポ

Taraxacum maruyamanum, formerly Taraxacum platycarpum ssp. maruyamanum is an indigenous perennial species to the Oki Islands off the coast of the Shimane Peninsula. The flower heads, yellow, measure 3.5-4cm in diameter; the inner involucral bracts adhere to the petals, not bending backward or downwards, unlike the worldwide-spread T. officinale. The length of outer involucral bracts is as long two-thirds as the interior ones. Bloom time: April-May.
