Ligularia dentata:
A perennial inhabiting damp grasslands or forest edges deep in
the mountains, it grows to 40-120cm in height, with approximately
30cm across kidney-shaped orbicular radical leaves with long
petioles and distinctive serrations on the margins. The peduncle's
bases of on-stem leaves, of alternate phyllotaxis, broadly expand to
embrace the stems. The ends of flower stalks emerge as approximately
8 cm in diameter corymbs with ten yellow ligulate flowers. Bloom
time: July-August. |
