Ardisia crenata,
a 30-100cm-tall evergreen shrub, grows in evergreen forests with
erect stems and sparsely branching on the upper parts. The
phyllotaxis is alternate; blades, 4-13cm long and 2-4cm wide, are
oblong, with wavy serrations on their margins, a thick texture, and
both surfaces are glabrous. The branch tip set is approximately ten,
about 8 mm, across white flowers arranged in an umbel-like manner.
Corollas deeply cut themselves into five, and the lobes bend
backward. Stamens are five in number, stigmas one. Drupes are
spherical, measuring 6-7mm in diameter, and remain until around next
April. Bloom time: June-August. |
