Ardisia pusilla is
a small evergreen shrub in evergreen forests. The phyllotaxis is
alternate; the leaves attach upper parts in a whorls way, and blades
measure 2-6cm long, 1.5-3cm wide, in the shape of an oval to
long-oblong, with somewhat pointed tips and coarse serrations on
margins, both surfaces, and petioles with vellus hairs. White
flowers, 6-7mm across, bloom facing downward. Corollas deeply cut
themselves into five, with glandular dots. Drupes 5-6mm across and
spherical, mature in red in about December. Bloom time: June-August. |
