Silene armeria,
an approximately 30-60cm-tall European annual to biennial introduced
long ago, grows wild in nearby-the-sea locations or roadsides,
tinging somewhat glaucous all through. Leaves are 3-5cm long, in the
shape of an ovate to ovate-like lanceolate. One centimeter across,
flowers densely bloom on branch tips; the flowers range from red,
light red, and occasionally white. Bloom time: May-July. |
