Veronica anagallis-aquatica is
a biennial non-indigenous species that has spread the country over
and inhabits wet environments such as streambanks, ponds, etc. The
stem is erected approximately 1m from the rhizome, with opposite
oval or lanceolate leaves with minimum saw teeth. The serration is
so minimal that the plate looks like an entire. The raceme of many
flowers arises from the axil, the flower corolla with four lobes up
to 1cm in width, vivid bluish purple. Bloom time: April-September. |
