Veronica anagallis-aquatica
is a biennial, non-indigenous species that has spread throughout the
country and inhabits wet environments, such as streambanks and
ponds. The stem is erected approximately 1m from the rhizome, with
opposite oval or lanceolate leaves with minimal saw teeth. The
serration is so minimal that the plate looks like an entire. The
raceme of many flowers arises from the axil. The flower corolla has
four lobes, measuring up to 1 cm in width, and is a vivid,
bluish-purple color. Bloom time: April-September. |
