Strolling along mountain rivers in forests,
you may encounter this perennial, Stellaria
diversiflora:
stems with no hairs crawling on the ground and the upper parts
sloping upward to become 10-30cm in height. In a triangular-ovate
shape, leaves are in opposite arrangement, with short hairs.
Peduncles emerge from the axils on the upper parts and set 1-1.5cm
in diameter, white flowers. Petals are five in number, cleft
halfway. Stamens are 10, and styles (pistils) number three in all.
Bloom time: May-July. |
