Utricularia bifida is
a small, insectivorous, perennial herb that occurs in marshes,
taking root underground and extending white, thread-like rhizomes
sideways. It sets tiny, insectivorous sacs and sparsely produces
6-7mm long, linear leaves above ground. Flower stalks measure 5-15
cm in height, and some have approximately 5 mm in diameter yellow
flowers on the upper parts. This species sometimes coexists with
another species, U. yakushimensis. Bloom time: August-October. |
