Lamium amplexicaule,
a 10-30 cm in height biennial found in fields or roadsides, with
leaves of opposite phyllotaxis, 1-2cm long, fan-shaped, orbicular
with obtuse serrations on margins. About 2cm long, red-purple
ligulate flowers set themselves thickly on the stem's upper axils;
among those flowers, many cleistogamous ones, smaller than the
normals, remain in the state of buds. The flowers are magenta,
flecked with darker spots. Bloom time: March-June. |
