Platanthera mandarinorum
ssp. maximowicziana var. cornu-bovis, a perennial orchid
species, inhabits damp to wet locations in the subalpine zone,
growing to 30-60cm in height. Of alternate phyllotaxis, leaves, some
number, in the shape of a long oblong, attach themselves on the
middle parts of stems, with tips obtuse, bases embracing the
branches. The leaves on the upper parts are linear-shaped and small.
Stem tips give birth to inflorescences in a raceme way and set light
green to green-white flowers in them; lips are ligulate, and spurs
are long, measuring 2-3cm in length. Bloom time: July. |
