Ranunculus muricatus is a native of Europe, 15-50cm
tall, found in damp places like paths between paddies, etc. Stems
sparsely branch at the bases, and radical and on-stem leaves are
cleft in three and serrated margins. Of alternate phyllotaxis are
leaves on the upper parts of the stems. Yellow, 5-petaled, 1.5cm in
diameter flowers singly place themselves at leaf axils on the upper
portions. Fruit resulted in an aggregation of as much as 20 achenes.
