Ranunculus muricatus is
a native of Europe, 15-50cm in height, found in damp places like
paths between paddies, etc. Stems sparsely branch at the bases, and
both radical and on-stem leaves are cleft in three and margins
serrated. Of alternate phyllotaxis are leaves on the upper parts of
the stems. Flowers, yellow, 5-petaled, 1.5cm in diameter, singly
place themselves at leaf axils on the upper portions. Fruit resulted
in an aggregation of as much as 20 achenes. Bloom time: April-June. |
